Opportunity From: United Way of the Lewis & Clark Area

Volunteer: Fire Wise Demonstration Garden Volunteer

The Fire Wise Demonstration Garden in Montana City was constructed to demonstrate that less flammable vegetation can create attractive landscaping, referred to as "fire wise practices". The garden is one of the first in Montana and incorporates ignition resistant construction materials, landscape design, and vegetation that can lower wildfire risk around a home.

We are asking businesses, organizations and individuals to become involved in helping to support on-going maintenance activities and plantings at the garden.  Weeding, trimming and deadheading plants are the most common chores.  Any amount of time, level of interest or expertise is welcome.  A great opportunity to get outside and learn about fire wise principles and native plants and trees.
