We are seeking dedicated volunteers to help lead community disaster response and recovery efforts in our area. Volunteer leaders play a critical role in coordinating volunteers, supporting disaster-affected residents, organizing recovery projects, and helping ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most. Volunteer: Minor Home Repair Projects for Elderly/Disabled/VeteransEvery year United Way holds Spirit of Service (SOS) in May. We help 15-20 people with minor home repairs, painting, mowing, weeding, etc. All work is outside, no roofs. We are looking for volunteers that can help with ongoing mowing needs, small projects that are made known after SOS day, etc. We are looking for volunteers that are willing to help people as needed. Current needs: cut wood and pile for firewood, build handicap ramp (looking for donation of ramp or funds to build), brush clean up.
