Who We Are

WorldMontana® is a Helena based non-profit dedicated to promoting global education and exchanges. It was founded in 1987 and has since hosted more than two thousand international leaders who come to the U.S. to better understand our country. WorldMontana® is an affiliate of the Global Ties>U.S., which is comprised of 84 community-based non-profits throughout the U.S. that work with the State Department to facilitate International Visitor Leadership Programs. The WorldMontana® program is designed to bring promising professionals in a wide variety of fields into contact with their counterparts in the U.S. There is a rather urgent need for thoughtful Americans to foster international understanding in order to create a world community of peaceful and prosperous nations. WorldMontana® provides a unique and powerful opportunity to do just that through its focus on citizen diplomacy.
In the words of one international visitor, “there is nothing like one-to-one contact between people to create true understanding and concern.”

What We Do

Every year we bring over 150 professional leaders, high school students to Montana from over 57 countries on the international exchanges and global education.

Each program requires to arrange 3-4 professional meetings every day according to the topic of the program,  which involves 16 - 25 speakers.  The program topics include Agriculture, NGO management, Civic Activism, Women Entrepreneurship, Health Care in Remote Areas, Transparency Governance, Transnational Crime Issues, Investigative and Business Journalism, The U.S. Justice System: Protecting Women and Children, Infrastructure Development, etc.

Each program requires to arrange home dinner hospitality for participants which gives opportunity to Helena residents to learn more about other cultures and make new international friends. From another side this is a great opportunity for our international visitors to learn more about everyday of Americans' life and our culture.

All our programs help to connect Montana and the world and make our Helena community to be involved in citizen diplomacy.
